Connecticut Colony
Connecticut was founded in 1636 by Thomas Hooker and other colonists.
Economy
New England was the coldest of the three regions.It had mild and short summers and long cold winters. Connecticut was in New England.
Connecticut is a Native American phrase meaning river whose water is driven by tides or winds.

Religion
The Puritans were a group of English Reformed protestants in the sixteenth and seventeenth century who sought to ''purify'' the Church of England from it's '' catholic'' practices maintaining that the Church of England was only partially reformed.
Separation of church and state is not a new hot topic, it was a major issue to Thomas Hooker a Puritan minister, he left Massachusetts bay colony and founded Hartford, Connecticut.
Geography
In towns along the coast, colonists made their living fishing, whaling, shipbuilding, and also shipping. The economy of other parts of colonial Connecticut was based on timber products,the fur trade, maple syrup, copper, livestock products,horses,rum,whiskey,and also beer.

The major products of the Connecticut colony were manufactured. They included flour,lumber,useful hardware, and candle stick holders. The major trades of the colonists who lived there were making pots, pans,cloth,shoes,spices,pins,hats,and combs.

The geography was shaped by glaciers. Most of the land had a rocky, thin layer of dirt.
Forests and rugged mountains made it hard to find
good farmland.
The climate was bad, due to the cold weather most of the year and short growing seasons.
Rocky and sandy land made it hard to farm.
The population of Connecticut was 183,900 colonists in 1770.
Boys had to bring wood to the fireplace, care for the farm animals, gather wild berries and vegetables,help plow fields and plant crops,and help build and repair buildings.
Girls had to weave cloth to make clothing, preserve fruits and vegetables,cook the food, make soap and candles,and help with planting and harvesting in the fields.
New England fishermen caught 600,000 pounds of fish in 1641.
Little kids played games like hop scotch, tag, and hide and seek.
Older kids played games like checkers,backgammon, and dominoes.
It has tons of rivers so you can fish a lot.
There is loads of snow to play with.You might be able to make a snow fort and have a snowball fight.

In small lakes the water might turn to ice so you might be able to ice skate.
