Contemporary dance is a popular form of dance which developed during the middle portion of the twentieth century, and has since grown to become one of the dominating performance genres for formally trained dancers throughout the world.It originally informed by and borrowing from classical, modern, and jazz styles, it is often perceived as being closely related to modern dance, ballet and other classical concert dance styles.
History Of Dance
Hip hop is the most conman dance style and it is also know as street dancing.This is because hip hop was originated on the street's of America in the 1970's.
Space is important in dance. It coordinates the dance and makes it look better. Space in dance avoids bumping into each other and also helps the dancers to be synchronized and coordinated.
Dance has been around for a very long time. In most ancient civilizations, dancing before the god is an important element in temple ritual. In Egypt the priests and priestesses, accompanied by harps and pipes, perform stately movements which mime significant events in the story of a god, or imitate cosmic patterns such as the rhythm of night and day.
Time is very important when it come to dance. It affects how your body changes direction and if the steps are on beat.
Dance involves a lot of energy and movement. Dance is about energy. Without energy, there is no movement. Without movement, there is nothing to observe. With nothing to observe, there is no dance.
During the medieval period, dance was defined by clam and graceful movement. Most of the dance was designed for church related activities and display.Two important dances of the medieval times were the Farandole and Saltarello.
From the 1600 to the 1750 artists were challenged to raise the bar whether it was dancing, composing, or designing. Artists show-case their abilities and prove themselves and from that point forward, dance was difficult work of art and a display of human abilities. two popular dances between that time period were Bourree and Passepied.
Jazz dancing is a form of dance that showcases a dancer's individual style and originality. Jazz dance is a classification shared by a broad range of dance styles. Before the 1950s, jazz dance referred to dance styles that originated from African American dance. Jazz was a big hit in the early 50's and it is still a well loved style of dance all over the world.
