Scripture Acts of the Apostles Test Review Holy Spirit List three signs that show the holy spirit has come A noise like a strong driving wind came from the sky.
Tongues of Fire appeared, which parted and came to rest on each of them.
They were all filled with the holy spirit and began to speak in tongues. Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy.
Your young men shall see visions.
Your old men shall dream dreams. What does the Holy Spirit enable one to do? What gesture is associated with giving the power of the Spirit? Laying of Hands What emotion does the Holy Spirit bring? JOY! Judas How did Judas die? It is believed Judas died one of the two ways:
He hung himself
His indises fell out Who were the canidates to replace Judas? Why did they need candidates? What are the qualifications of becoming an apostle? The Candidates to replace Judas were Matthias and Joeseph. A.K.A. Barnabas or Justus They needed candidates because they needed twelve apostles. Jesus appointed 12 for a reason. They are supposed to represent the 12 tribes. The qualifications of becoming an apostles are: they had to have accompanied them from the beginning of John's baptism until the day Jesus resurrected. The Council of Jerusalem What was the topic of disscussion? How did the council arrive at a decision? Who spoke at the Council? What was the decisions? What was the significance for the history of christianity? The freedom of the Gentiles from Jewish Law. Paul and Barnabas The significance for the history of the Christianity was the acceptance of the Gentiles who have turned to God in to the Christian community. To stop troubling the Gentiles and place a burden on them. Although they did not have to follow all the Jewish customs, they had to avoid pollution from idols, unlawful marriage, the meat from strangled animals, and blood. They agreed with Paul and Barnabas who spoke at the council. Road to Emmaus who are the two people walking? Through this story how does Jesus become known? Why did they not recognize Jesus? Cleopus and Peter It is uncertain why they did not recognize him.
They have lost all hope. At this point, Jesus's mission appears to be a failure to them.

We see him in the Eucharist. Mary Magdalene True or False: Mary Magdalene was one of the women who went to the apostles to tell them Jesus resurrected. True Who does she think Jesus is when he appears? What does the appearance of Jesus to Mary Magdalene show us? Why did people use to believe she was a prostitute? What else did they believe she was? People use to believe she was a prostitute because the story that introduces her, follows a story about a woman who was a prostitute. They also belived:
She was possessed by demons and Jesus healed her.
She was rich and a widow.
She was the woman who annointed Jesus with oil.
The appearance shows us we are supposed to recognize Jesus when he calls us. A Gardner. Rome Why does Rome accept Judaism? Why does Rome NOT accept Christianity. What does Paul say in defense of Christianity? because it was an ancient religion It disrupted the community and government.
