Weedy Sea Dragon courtship Weedy sea dragons A weedy sea dragon (phyllopteryx) is a species of fish similar to a seahorse, it is found along the south coast of australia and is found at depths of 3-50m in beds of weeds where its weedy outcrops help it camoflage. It is also similar to a sea horse due to the fact that the males carry and give birth to their young. This be a weedy sea dragon Courtship When courting weedy sea dragons pair off and perform an elaborate dance with eachother from when the evening when light is fading into the black of night. Both dragons mirror eachothers actions almost perfectly. The ritual takes place annually at spring time
