Analysis
The diverse culture in our community is created by the diffusion of many people to this area from centuries ago to today. The hearths of it are even found halfway across the world. Relocation diffusion is seen to bring culture to our community with migration and that migration can be caused from anything like job opportunities (a pull factor that leads to voluntary migration) or an extremely high population density (a push factor of not enough resources that leads to forced migration). Some other types of diffusion that are seen to bring culture to our community is hierarchical diffusion and stimulus diffusion. An example of hierarchical diffusion is pop culture emerging from a major urban city into a smaller suburban/rural city, changing folk culture. Stimulus diffusion can be seen as a culture trend taken from somewhere else, but changed and shaped into their own culture without changing the general idea like McDonald's restaurants being taken from our culture and having their menu's modified to fit into another.
This is a picture of a Mexican meat market near my house selling all types of hispanic foods and other items. It represents Mexican culture that was brought to the U.S. through diffusion.
This example of the community's culture is demonstrated by the religion inside the Baptist church practiced by the group of people who attend.
This picture was taken at Cy-Lakes high school where the christmas tree is a symbol of a Christmas tradition in America (American culture). It can also be seen as the culture of Cy-Lakes where setting up a christmas tree every year in that spot after Thanksgiving has become their own tradition.
This picture is of my classmate who wears a Sikh turban that represents his religion (apart of his culture). It was taken at Cypress Lakes High School and with other students also practicing Sikhism, it can be seen as apart of the group's culture as well.

This is a picture of Houston highways and roads where people drive to where they need to go with cars. Transportation is an element of culture with the people of Houston and that is what is represented in the picture. You can also see a culture of innovatoin where more people use highways and cars than walking or public transportation.
This is a picture of Cheongsam, a traditional Chinese dress. That makes it apart of Chinese culture and it can also be found in Houston's "Chinatown" where many different Asian cultures can be seen.
This is a Hanbok, a traditional korean dress, making it apart of Korea's clothing culture. Many koreans wear this during traditional festivals and celebrations and there has been korean migration to the U.S. since the 20th century.
This is a sign for McDonald's, a very well-known symbol for America's food culture. There are many McDonalds all over the world but the resuarant originated in the U.S. and the culture diffused to other countries.
Here is a picture of the Masjid E Mohammedi (mosque)where people practicing Islam can go to pray and worship. The mosque and religion shows Islamic culture for the people who practice Islam.

I also took this picture from the dialect quiz in the Language Lab to show the language/dialect culture of this community.
This picture is of two educational posters in my home to represent the basic lessons taught to American children using the English alphabet and numbers. This shows the educational and language culture of America.

Discussion question 1 B) School is where all kids go to learn and they all come from different backgrounds with different clothing traditions, types of communication (languages) and religion, all representing culture which is where I was able to take pictures. The school itself could even have it's own traditions having a culture of it's own.
