"Volunteering to me is not just giving my time to help,
but a chance for me to learn and gain experience as well"
ABOUT 4 HOURS
What Did I Learn?
Based on the work I did, I grew a stronger sense of what I would
not
want to pursue as my career in the future
I don't like tedious housekeeping work such as photocopying or organizing or cleaning
Does not suit my personality and skill sets
Would not want to work as an assistant in an office/workplace
Find it tiresome and not very interesting
What Did I Learn?
I realized the
critical importance
of a school
to the community and society
Schools provide education to the youth
Education is a fundamental for advancement and progress
Schools also provide a sense of safety for the community
A safe learning environment also mean a safe community
The main goal of a school is to educate children into becoming a productive use to society in the future
Conclusion
After a long day of volunteering...
Got to do things I never would've bothered to do (i.e. pumping balls)
Tried many new things and enjoyed it for the most part
Gained a lot of experience
Would probably not do it again however
Was thanked a lot by the teachers after finishing
