REPETITION
is when words, phrases, sounds, or images are repeated.
REPETITION
can be scary, annoying, or can make the author/narrator seem crazy.
Figurative Language

Simile/Metaphor - something is compared to something (usually something creepy)


Personification - something nonhuman is given human qualities (creepy!)


Hyperbole - exaggeration
Choices
Everything
an author writes includes carefully planned choices to create a desired effect...We are looking at techniques authors use to create a mood of suspense or horror!
