By Grant Reed Youtube had only sixty-seven employees until Google bought it. Youtube was founded in 2005 and is currently based in San Bruno, California. The current CEO of Youtube is Salar Kamangar, although it was founded by Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim. Products and Services offered Youtube is an online video sharing website owned by Google. You can upload and comment on billions of videos created by different users around the world. In order to access certain features of Youtube you must be logged into a google account. For example comments can only be made by logged-in users. Also you cannot upload any videos without being logged into a Google account But most people can watch videos on Youtube. Youtube is completely free so you can watch as many videos as you want with no additional cost. Some Countries like China and Afghanistan have prohibited use of Youtube... But generally non-communist countries will not block off Youtube. America and Europe both allow access to all of the internet including Youtube. Major Accomplishments New layout
Youtube has recently changed its layout, but there is debate if this should be considered an accomplishment, as multiple complaints have been made about this new format. In fact, viral youtuber accounts have been having a dramatic drop in views per day, possibly because of this new format. Viral Videos
Certain Youtube accounts have reached millions of views, that is a major accomplishment as that means millions of people are using Youtube. The currently most-watched video is known as "Gangnam Style" by psy, with over nine hundred million views and is expected to go over one billion views soon. Viral Channels
Some Youtube accounts have over one million subscribers and are payed to keep making videos. Youtube makes most of its money through advertisements, so it helps to have viral channels. This an important achievement because it shows that millions of people consistently watch different Youtube channels. Youtube's Competitors
