Animal Report Kangaroos Diet Herbivores (plant-eaters) They get water from the plants they eat in the desert. Smaller kangaroos eat mushrooms and fungi. Joeys Come out of the pouch at 7 months old. They continue to nurse after they're out of the pouch. Size Adult gray or red kangaroos are about 1.8 m tall. They are about 100 pounds. Habitat They live all around Australia They live in desert areas or moist swamps. Food Cycle Interesting Facts Over 50 types of kangaroos. Western gray kangaroos are nicknamed " Stinker " They don't stop growing through out their lives.
