Energy Transfer
for nine days.
Energy transfer is the movement of energy from one form to another. For example, in a car engine, the chemical energy of the fuel is converted to kinetic (motion),heat, and sound energy

earths water is always in movement

Energy can be transferred from one location to another, as in the sun's energy travels through space to earth. The two ways that energy can be transferred are by doing work and heat by heat transfer
The more the energy there is in water the more the atoms in it move. When the atoms in a liquid receive heat they gather more energy and move faster, this means it's turning into a gas/evaporating. When the atoms cool the gas condensates back into a liquid. Then if it gets more cold it freezes into ice.
the water cycle is always changeing through these states liquid, vaporand ice with these prossesing with a blink of an eye and over millions of years.
For example, heat energy can be transferred by conduction, convection, and radiation. Conduction works when heat energy heat energy transfers through a heated solid. Convection is the energy transfer of liquids and gasses. Radiation transfers energy through electromagnetic waves. In the water adding or getting rid of heat makes the cycle work. When heat is added to ice in a frozen lake it melts and changes to a liquid. When heat is added to the liquid it evaporates and creates water vapor. When heat is taken away from the water vapor it condenses into a cloud. Condensation turns water vapor into a liquid. It will then precipitate but if it's cold enough it may snow or hail. The water then goes through a surface runoff back into the lake. This cycle then repeats
it takes on average 5-45 mins
for rain to fall out of any clouds
Location of weather
Areas that are warm, humid and damp have the most thunder storms. This is due to more moister evaporating which leads to more rain.
Most storms happen near the equator with as many as 200 a year.
A lot of storms happen in the rain forests because of their warmth, humidity and dampness.
Location of weather
Hurricanes form over 80 degrees Fahrenheit or warmer ocean water. The atmosphere must cool off quickly the higher you go and there must be wind. It needs to be blowing in the same direction and speed to spin the air around.
Most hurricanes that happen in the United States start in the Caribbean or the Atlantic ocean and then move on to the United States.

Location of water
Water covers 75% of the earth. Water can be found in earths oceans, lakes, streams, and other bodies of water. Most of earths water is salt water. Only water in lakes, rivers, and shallow ground is available for human use.
It takes eight days for
water to fall on to the earth
