The First phone sold for $3,995 and weighed over two pounds, it weighed 4 to 5 times more than a mobile phone now,with a nickname "the brick".
Despite the low battery life, weight and cost, the product was on high demand and consumers waited in thousands.
It didn't go on the market until 1983. In The early 70's Martin Cooper work in Motorola's communications system here he invented he first portable cellular phone in 1973.
While inventing he had an idea of what the phone would mean: "personal telephone - something that would represent an individual so you could assign a number; not to a place, not to a desk, not to a home, but to a person." The management at Motorola were very supportive with Martin Cooper's mobile phone concept ,they invested $100 million between 1973 and 1993.
Martin Cooper gathered a team so they could design and assemble the mobile phone. They built the phone in less than 90 days that is called DynaTAC 8000x. * It takes 26 hours for the average person to report a lost wallet. It takes 68 minutes for them to report a lost phone.
*There are 6.8 billion people on the planet. 5.1 billion of them own a mobile phone, but only 4.2 billion own a toothbrush.

After graduating from Illinois Institute of Technology in 1950, he served as a submarine officer in the Korean War.
In 1954 he began working for Motorola.
In 1957 he received a masters degree in IT electrical engineering. Mobile Phones are used for many reasons,
*Keeping in touch with family.
*In case of emergency.
-Motorola did in study that showed that one in ten
people who use mobile phones have a second phone that is often kept secret from family members.

Bells system invented The car phone which is a mobile phone device specifically invented for automobile and was first used on June 17 1946.
But Motorola was the first company to produce a handheld mobile phone.
