What is the American Dream Jecelyn & Claudeya OUR DEFINITION Similarities Claudeya's Definition of the American Dream:
Is an "idea" that suggests people should live a free and happy life. And sholl succeed by hard work In our opinion, The American Dream is an Attitude Is the American Dream an attitude or real term? Continued....... It was manifested in the Declaraton of Independence, which describes an "attitude" of hope What is the American Dream today? Differences Jecelyn's Definition:
An individual's goal who's aiming for success and equality Its a mindset idea that your goals can be reached. The word "Dream" clarafies the assumption. A dream is somewhat a condition or achievement that you longed for Resources: www.otvg.de 1920's American Dream Today's American Dream Everyone aimed for Wealthiness "Now, I say to you today my friends, even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed" Martin Luther King Jr., Speech at Civil Rights March on Washington, August 28, 1963 American Dream of the 1920's The 1920's were a decade of rebirth characterized by the founding of the "American Dream" The Belief that anyone can, and should, achieve material success. Sure we want money and a good family, but we as people, want to make our mark on the world. The American Dream today is to Change the world. Gatsby wanted to maintain his fame and live luxury. He admired big houses and luxury cars.
He aimed for a house that took him three years to get Today in America , it generally refers to the idea that one's prosperity depends upon one's own abilities and hard work. For some, it is the opportunity to achieve more prosperity than they could in their countries of orgin Politics plays a role in our Dream today Main focus on was being famous or known. Hope to have a good job Wanted a car Have a good eduaction for their kids. Was to find true love Know matter what the situation is, dont let anything get in your of having fun.
