Transcript of One Direction
"One Way or Another (Teenage Kicks)" is a cover recorded by One Direction, released as the 2013 Comic Relief charity single on 17 February 2013. It is a medley of Blondie's "One Way or Another" and The Undertones' "Teenage Kicks".
The boys from One Direction teamed up with a british charity called Comic Relief and decided to make a single to raise money to help kids in Ghana.
Instead of spending a lot of money on a music video, they make it theirselves while they where on tour and gave the money they saved to Comic Relief. Besides, people could buy the single on ITunes and all the money would go to Comic Relief.
The boys also auctioned some of the clothes they wore in Ghana and gave the money to the charity...
In total, they earned over 600 million pounds and didn't receive any payment.
They are an English-Irish boy band joind with Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson.
The band released three albums:
Up All Night
Take Me Home
after their second album they did another single for charity.
Liam: Go for it!
Louis: This year we decided to make a single to raise money for Comic Relief.
Zayn: Comic Relief are a British charity that do amazing work helping people all over Africa and in the U.K living with really tough lives
Harry: So, instead of spending a lot of money in a music video we decided to make it ourselves while we are on tour and give the money we save to Comic Relief.

and made hit singles including:

"Live While We're Young"
"Story of My Life"
The band participated in several charities and made many donations
In 2011, the band performed on the Children in Need 2011 broadcast, helping raise over 26 million pounds.
In 2012, they extended their involvement with Children in Need as they opened the program with a performance of their single Live While We're Young.
The group said it was "incredible" to be involved in the charity event as it was something that they had "always watched as children".
NIALL HORAN'S CHARITY FOOTBALL CHALLENGE
This year, Niall Horan and 1D team up for a charity football match
Horan organized a football match against the Derby County (English Football Team). Fellow band members Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson joined Olly Murs, James Cordon, Jack Whitehall, Ronan Keating and team captain Piers Morgan on a football match against the Derby County (English Football Team at the King Power Stadium in Leicester.
Over 15,500 tickets were sold for the event and over £300,000 were raised for Irish Autism Action, the UK based Hearts and Minds Challenge and the Leicester Foxes Foundation.
In 2013, band members Liam Payne and Harry Styles partnered with Trekstock, a leading cancer charity in order to help raise money for cancer research.
As ambassadors of the charity, the duo collaborated to offer the chance for one fan and a friend to win an evening out with them in return for a donation to the charity as part of an exclusive "#HangwithLiam&Harry" global campaign.
They ended up raising $784,984. .
After all this charity work One Direction were named the most charitable in 2013 behind Taylor Swift and her social change organization DoSomething.org.
The band got together at the TV program "THE X FACTOR", after the five boys were rejected as solo artists. The judges thought they were better together and they finished third.
