The Good Citizen By: Nick Ambrozic The Oath of Citizenship "I swear (or affirm) that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada, Her Heirs and Successors, and that I will faithfully observe the laws of Canada ... "...and fulfill my duties as a Canadian citizen." "...ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country. " exerpt from John F. Kennedys Famous speech.

or... "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you"Matthew 7:12. To be a good citizen is to serve your community as best as you can. Selflessness: "The willingness of our citizens to give freely and unselfishly of themselves, even their lives, in defense of our democratic principles, gives this great Nation continued strength and vitality." Ronald Reagan.
j Are You a Good Citizen? Paragraph A good citizen is someone that fulfills their duties to their community. A good citizen does not ask what others can do for them but rather what they can do for others. They also are not afraid to stand up for the greater good of everyone even if the government opposes it. A person of any race, religion, and ethnic background who only expects others to do what they themselves would be willing to do. Individuals that give everything they have, their time, money, and strength, into serving others to help better their community.
To be a good citizen is to serve your community as best you can whether it is by helping defend the peace of your community or donating time and money to the less fortunate through charity. Good citizens are people that defend and respect the rights and freedoms of others in their community and the world. As well, they show everyone respect and forgiveness not because they demand it from others to but because it is what is right. They cooperate freely and openly with others and consider others own opinions to be important no matter their status. The good citizen constantly participates in various community service activities.
Also, they are politically active and aware. They protest if a decision that the government has made is not right and care about which person it is that represents their community. They are environmentally friendly and help out with encouraging the community to become friendlier to the environment as in reusing paper and plastic or getting rid of non renewable resources and only using renewable ones. Last but not least, the good citizen always pays their taxes not just for the reason that they must but for the greater good.
