INTRODUCTION
What's that? You want to learn about photography? Well, you came to the right person, but before we get started, let me just say, photography isn't an easy thing. It's all about angles, precision and steadiness. When you master these basic principles, photography will become a clear road for you to walk down. As you practice, you will realize that photography is really about having fun!

In this Prezi, I will be teaching you the basic steps to taking an amazing picture that will not only impress your friends and family, but yourself as well!

This Prezi will teach BEGINNER photography in MY philosophy so it WILL NOT be as formal as professional photography.

Shall we begin?
FUN FACT #1
The first colored photograph was taken in 1861 by a British physicist named James Maxwell.
WHAT KIND OF CAMERA DO YOU NEED FOR PHOTOGRAPHY?
If someone ever said you need to have an expensive Canon or Sony camera to take pictures, don't ever talk to them again.

For starters in the art of photography, you can use about any kind of camera you have. What really matters is the picture you take, not how expensive the camera is.

If you have a video camera that can also be used as a camera to take photos, by all means, use that so you don't have to go out and buy another camera.

Let's say you have an iPod, iPhone, iPad, Android or any other type of device, you can use those to take pictures because they have a camera.

FUN FACT #2
The first color photograph in Russia was published in "Memoirs of Russian Technical Society". The famous author, Leo Tolstoy was pictured in the photo.
WHEN CAN I START TAKING PHOTOS?
We have all heard of camera tricks, and we learn them by playing around with the system. Photography is all about camera tricks, how to enhance a photo, zoom in, make a photo clear or blurry.

We learn these camera tricks when we start taking pictures, so don't hesitate to start!

I took my first photo that led me to this hobby when I was playing around with my dad's camera in the summertime and that one photo took me a long way.

Not all of the pictures you take will be perfect, but that is how you get better at this style of art.
FUN FACT #3
According to recent data collected, only 2 out of 10 photos taken on a digital camera are printed on paper.
WHAT CAN I TAKE PICTURES OF?
Since we are talking about beginner photography, it is best to start off taking pictures of things that cannot move. For example, taking pictures of plants or buildings is a good way to practice.

Always remember that photos are taken in two types of frames, LANDSCAPE (horizontal) and PORTRAIT (vertical).

Whenever you feel you are ready, you can start off with people, animals and even trains, cars or airplanes!

DO NOT FEEL DISCOURAGED IF YOUR PICTURES AREN'T AS GOOD AS YOU HOPED THEY WOULD BE.

Practice makes perfect!
FUN FACT #4
The term "megapixel" was first uttered in 1984.
PHOTOS THAT I TOOK
These are a few photos I took using a camera from a 4th generation iPod. Like I said earlier, you don't need to waste your money on an expensive camera, you can use whatever is available.
WHAT TYPE OF EDITING SOFTWARE CAN I USE?
If you own any product with a store to purchase apps from, there will most likely be a photo-editing app! It is always best to buy a FREE photo editing app so no extra expense will be added.

I use Aviary which is an app you can get from the App Store or any other place of purchase on a device. This service just happens to be my favorite so I decide to use to touch up on my photos.

If you take photos that don't have a great color, or aren't of high resolution, using photo-editing apps can help make the photos you took, the best photos ever!

Using a photo editing app will never, ever count as cheating when you are a beginner in photography!

Of course, you can always use any software that you already have on your computer.
FUN FACT #5
George Eastman, the owner of Kodak, named his company after the sound he thought the camera shutter made.
