What are authors rights?
Rights that protect the author and its creation from plagiarism and other copyright matters.
Laws Protecting them
The law article that protects the author's rights in Mexico is the 28th of the Mexican Politic Constitution.
Types of Author's Rights
What is public domain ?
Refers to the information that can be used without a license and have free usage.
A work becomes public domain when the author has been dead 75 years and his/her license is not active.
Author's Rights Infringed
The maximum percentage of music that can be used for free is 10% or 30 seconds
The article 102 from the Federal Law on Author´s Rights: "Computer programs are protected in the same terms as a literary work..."
The maximum extension of text that can be used for free is 10% or 1000 words
Moral: To respect the author's piece with integrity and with recognition of intellectual qualities.
Patrimonial: Protecting the reproduction and distribution of the piece.
Only 5 images can be used for free from a same author and just for educational means
Case 1: 20 clones of "Chilindrina" in circuses.
Case 2: 65% of music sold in the country is pirate.
