By Ethan Askland Disorganized Schizophrenia What is it? Disorganized Schizophrenia is a chronic mental illness in which a person loses touch with reality. It is marked by thoughts, speech, and behavior that don't make sense and are inappropriate. Disorganized schizophrenia is considered a more severe type of schizophrenia because people with this disorder may be unable to carry out daily activities (bathing, meal preparation, etc.) Symptoms -difficulty feeling pleasure -delusional beliefs -grimacing -lack of motivation -hallucinations -bizarre and inappropriate emotional responses -speech that makes no sense Cause The cause is unknown but the symptoms usually start before age 25 Treatment A common medicine used to treat disorganized schizophrenia is Invega Sustenna -it is taken once a month after starting doses Video Famous People with Disorganized Schizophrenia +John Nash-American mathematician
