Transcript of Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa of Calcutta born Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu
August 27, 1910 - September 5, 1997
realized God's calling in her life at age 12
became a nun at age 18
shortly after becoming a nun, she began her work in India, where she realized the importance of spreading love to the poor

Background In 1950 Mother Teresa established the order Missionaries of Charity, and through this ministry she dedicated her life to serving the poor. Leadership Styles Servant leadership Transforming leadership "It is Christ you tend in the poor. It is his wounds you bathe, his sores you clean, his limbs you bandage. See beyond appearances, hear the words Jesus pronounced long ago. What you do to the least of mine, you do to me. When you serve the poor, you serve our Lord Jesus Christ." "Father, I pray you for these sisters, whom you have chosen to serve you and belong to you. They were yours, and you gave them to me. You want me to lead them to you. You wish them to be an image of your Son, your own perfect image, that men may believe that you have sent him. That seeing their works, men may acknowledge that Christ was sent by you."
