Transcript of Allah controls the world

Allah contr ls
the world

1.Understand the concept of Al Qadar in Islam.
2.Internalize that nothing happens in the universe without Allah's permission and knowledge.
3. Understand that man has free will to choose good or evil actions.
The belief in al-qadar

Qadar---divine fate or destiny
Qadar means that Allah has decreed everything that happens in the universe according to His prior knowledge and the dictates of His wisdom.
Al-Qadar is ''exact measure or amount''
The Arabic Verb- yuqaddir means ''among other things to measure or decide the quality or position of something before you actually make it''
There are many references to AL-Qadar in the Qura’n .
Allah says:

(Verily, We have created all things with Qadar.(54:49)

(He has created everything, and has measured it exactly according to its due measurements (Faqaddarahu Taqdir).) (25:2

(77:21) which We then placed in a secure repository

the belief in al qadar is one of the 6th pillar of faith in islam. In a famous hadeeth of Jibreel (a.s), we understand the true meaning of faith.

“Now tell me about iman,’’ The Angel Jibreel once said to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)
The Prophet replied, “It means that you should believe in Allah, His Angels, His books, His Messengers, the Last Day; and that you should believe in fate, both good and evil.”

The four aspects of Al-Qadar are:
1.Al-Ilm-Divine Knowledge
2.Al-Kitabah-Written Destiny
3.Al-Mash’eeah-Divine will

Allah's knowledge encompasses everything. He knows what has occurred, what will occur and all that which has not occurred. He knew everything about His creation before He created it. He knows in His eternal knowledge about His creation ,their provisions, life spans, sayings, moves deeds, secrets all of their obedience and disobedient acts, who among them will be people of Jannah (Paradise) or who will be from the people of An Naar (fire):
“Know you not that Allaah knows all that is in the heaven and on the earth? Verily, it is (all) in the Book (Al Lawh Al Mahfooz). Verily, that is easy for Allaah”
[al-Hajj 22:70]

Ali narrated that "one day the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) was sitting with a wooden stick in his hand with which he was scratching the ground. He raised his head and said "there is none of you but has his place assigned either in the fire or in Paradise." They said, "O Allah's Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) Why should we carry on doing good deeds then, shall we depend (on Al-qadar) and give up work? The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said "No, but carry on doing good deeds, for everyone will find easy (to do) such deeds as will lead him to that for which he has been created "then he recited this ayat:
"As for him who gives (in charity)and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him, and believes in Al Husna (Tawheed, path of righteousness) we will make smooth for him the path of ease, goodness..(92:5-10)" Muslim vol.4)
2. Kitabah-written destiny
A muslim believes that Allah recorded everything in a Book is called ‘’Al lawh ul mahfooz’’ The preserved Book Allah says in Surat-ul An’aam :

''And with him are the keys of (all that is hidden) ; none knows them but he.And he knows whatever there is in (or on) the earth and in the sea;not a leaf falls, but he knows it. There is not a grain in the darkness of the earth, nor anything fresh or dry, but is written in a clear record. (6:59)
In Saheeh Muslim (2653) it is narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Aas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: “Allaah wrote down the decrees of creation fifty thousand years before He created the heavens and the earth.”
And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The first thing that Allaah created was the Pen, and He said to it, ‘Write!’ It said, ‘O Lord, what should I write?’ He said: ‘Write down the decrees of all things until the Hour begins.” Narrated by Abu Dawood, in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

Hadeeth Shareef
3 –Mashee’ah-Divine Will
Mashee’ah is the belief that whatever happens only happens by the will of Allah – whether that has to do with His actions or the actions of created beings.
Allah says concerning His actions (interpretation of the meaning):

“And your Lord creates whatsoever He wills and chooses”
[al-Qasas 28:68]

“He it is Who shapes you in the wombs as He wills”
[Aal ‘Imraan 3:6]
All events, actions and happenings occur only by the will of Allaah. Whatever Allaah wills happens, and whatever He does not will does not happen.

4. al-khalq
The belief that all things that happen are created by Allaah in their essence, their attributes and their movements.
Allah says

“Allaah is the Creator of all things, and He is the Wakeel (Trustee, Disposer of affairs, Guardian) over all things”
[al-Zumar 39:62]
“He has created everything, and has measured it exactly according to its due measurements”
[al-Furqaan 25:2]
And Allaah tells us that the Prophet of Allaah Ibraaheem (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to his people:
“While Allaah has created you and what you make”
[al-Saaffaat 37:96 – interpretation of the ayah] ....
If a person believes in all these things then he believes correctly in the divine will and decree (al-qadar).

Do we have free will??
Belief in al-qadar as we have described it above does not contradict the idea that a person has free will with regard to actions in which he has free choice. He can choose whether to or not to do things that he is able to do of acts of worship or sinful actions. Sharee’ah and real life both indicate that people have this will.
To make things more understandable, human actions can be categorized into three types:
1.Actions within which you(blood circulation, heart beats, etc)
2. Actions upon you (weather, accidents, environment, attacks, etc)
3, Actions from you (praying, helping others, harming others, etc)
Indeed, Allah has given ample information through His prophets and messengers to guide us to lead good obedient lives. The responsibility now lies within each individual to make right choices.Allah says in the Qur’an: (surat-ul-Ana'am)

And We send not the messengers except as bringers of good tidings and warners. So whoever believes and reforms - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.

However,Allah knows the choices we will make even before we decide. We do not know what our destiny is, but surely Allah knows the fate of all things.
The Benefits of the Belief in al-Qadar
There are many great benefits of the belief in al-Qadar that one cannot count. These benefits have profound effects on man’s personality and behavior. Here are some Important benefits of the belief in al-Qadar.
1.Believers in al-Qadar receive Allah’s mercy.

(77:20) Did We not create you of a mean fluid,
(77:22) until an appointed time?
(77:23) See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will.
But those who deny Our verses - the punishment will touch them for their defiant disobedience. That is the True Day; so he who wills may take to his Lord a [way of] return.
But give glad tidings unto those who are patient in adversity –
who, when calamity befalls them, say, "Verily, unto God do we belong and, verily, unto Him we shall return
It is they upon whom their Sustainer's blessings and grace are bestowed, and it is they, they who are on the right path!
