RECYCLING PLANTS
What will happen if we don' t recycle ??
OBJECTS MADE OUT OF RECYCLED MATERIALS
THE RECYCLING PROCESS
The recycling process involves 3 main steps, which form a circle or loop.

THE THREE R's
BENEFITS AND DISADVANTAGES OF RECYCLE

QUESTIONS
RECYCLING
THANK YOU!
PATRICIA DELGADO, LORENZO MANTECA, CARLOTA SIERRA
ADVANTAGES
1. Protects Environment

2. Reduces Energy Consumption

3. Reduces Pollution

4. Reduces Global Warming

5. Conserves Natural Resources

DESADVANTAGES
1. Not always Cost Effective

2. Unsafe and Unhygienic Recycling Sites

3. High Initial Cost

TRASH-O-SAURUS SCULPTURE
The 12-foot-tall dinosaur sculpture by Leo Sewell weighs 2,000 pounds and shows the amount of garbage and recyclables discarded* by an average Connecticut resident each year.
WEEE MAN
Created by Paul Bonomini, the WEEE Man structure is made of electronic waste and weighs exactly 3.3 tons and know lives at the Eden Project in Cornwall.
LIFE-SIZE WHALE SHARK
This life-size sculpture of a whale shark, the world’s largest fish, has been made from some 200 bags of ocean debris, including over 7000 discarded flip-flops.
The pile of trash is made from the remains of everything the artists needed to survive for the six months, it took them to complete the sculpture.

MAIN IDEAS:
1. COLLECTION:
In the first step of the recycling process, the recyclables materials are collected.
2. PROCESSING:
In the second step of the recycling process, the recyclables are processed. Once cleaned and sorted, the recyclables are processed to retrieve* the raw* materials, and the raw materials are then used in manufacturing recycled-content products.

3. RECYCLING:
The third step involves recycling products. This third step completes the recycling loop*.

REDUCE
Reduce means using fewer resources in the first place.
REUSE
You can reuse materials in their original form instead of throwing them away, or you also can pass those materials to other people who could use them too.
RECYCLE
This is the most effective of the three R's and the place to begin.
When you shop, shop differently. Look for things that will last -- things that are not just durable and well-made.
Recycling is the process of collecting and processing materials that would otherwise be thrown away as trash and turning them into new products.
Recycling can benefit your community and the environment.
If anyone in the world recycle , the world would be in great danger. If we don ´t not recycled , our homes and habitats can be destroyed . People could die from toxic gases and even the horrible stench of garbage.
Experts warn that in 2018 , the UK will have run out of space to bury their waste. The effects of not recycling are harmful to their environment and health .
The smell of it can be so toxic that it would be dangerous to the lungs of humans, eventually causing death.

What is the most important "R" ???Why?
The most important "R" is recycle because if anyone recycle we must die because of the toxic gases and the acummulation of garbage.
They use over 4000 recycled bags to fill out the body of the turtle sculpture.
The idea was to create a project that will engage people into space to begin the conversation about issues plastics in the ocean - says Kasey Jones.
They want people to reduce their use of plastic and to be aware of how they are disposing other waste.
They want people start thinking about how other actions are affecting the world.
Which are the three main steps in a recycling proess?
1. Collection
2. Processing
3. Recycling
VOCABULARY:
Raw materials: materias primas
Retrieve: recuperar
Recycling loop: circuito de reciclado
Discarded: descartado
Say one advantage and disadvantage of recycle.
1.Advantage --> reduce pollution
2.Disadvantage --> high initial cost

SIMPLE TIPS OF REUSING MATERIALS

A recycling plant is where all the garbage and organic waste we produce are processed to later reuse it.
