Transcript of Frantic Assembly
Their rehearsal process is often short and flexible. Frantic rehearse in an intense five/six week block. Scott and Steven freely admit to being unable to sustain the interest or concentration levels if rehearsals stretched on for much longer.
Winner of the Wolff Whiting Award 2008. Nominated for Best Touring Production at the TMA Theatre Awards 2008. Stockholm united Frantic Assembly with award-winning playwright Bryony Lavery (Frozen) and designer Laura Hopkins (Black Watch) to deliver an extraordinary perspective on the nature of modern love.
Their most recent production was Lovesong which you can now watch on the Digital Theatre site.

Background and Influences
Frantic Assembly are dedicated to their education work. At the moment it falls in these two categories. But, they believe that they are constantly learning.
Learn which covers all aspects of our interaction with schools, colleges and academic establishment .
Train which the company provides for members of the public and professionals seeking development.
This work is rooted in the way the company was formed. After unexpected and almost accidental exposure to physical theatre as university students, Scott and Steven were suddenly completely enthused by this performance style. After watching a physical theatre production of Savages by Christopher Hampton they set out to attend as many workshops as we could and immediately brought these skills back to their drama society hoping to steer it away from flat pack presentations of Checkhov, Ibsen and Ayckbourn.
More about Frantic
Having toured extensively throughout the UK, Frantic Assembly has built a desirable reputation as one of the most exciting theatre companies in the country. The company has also performed, created and collaborated in 30 different countries across the world, including Taiwan and Italy.
In addition to its productions, Frantic Assembly operates an extensive Learn & Train programme introducing 6,000 participants a year to the company's process of creating theatre, in a wide variety of settings. Frantic Assembly also delivers Ignition, an innovative vocational training project for young men, particularly targeting those with little previous experience of the arts.
Music is a massive inspiration for Frantic Assembly. Scott writes “We have it in our heads all the time and we use it in rehearsals at every stage. We cannot understand the type of rehearsal where the music only arrives in the tech week.”
They believe that it is integral to how they understand and communicate their style of theatre. It is a very present collaborator throughout their rehearsal process.
