Adelaide Zooilogical Gardens houses more than 2500 animals. The zoo boasts of 8 hectares of land, containing more than 250 different species of both native and exotic animals, including birds, mammals, fish and reptiles.

Since the first seeds were planted in 1855, the Adelaide Botanic Gardens has developed into three beautiful public gardens and is home to a large variety of roses, succulents, native flora and seasonal plants. Visitors can have a picnic, feed the native ducks and wander around the beautiful garden beds.

Entrance is free and some special points of interest are:

The Succulent Greenhouse
The Award-winning Rose Garden
The Rainforest Exhibit

Adelaide Botanic Gardens
Adelaide Gaol was opened in 1841 and shut its doors in 1988. It then became a museum in 1989. Over 300,000 accused men and women stayed within the cells and yards of this historic site. The Gaol was also the location of 45 of South Australia's 66 executions and is reputed to be one of the most haunted locations in South Australia.

The Gaol has many interesting features, which are definitely worth a look:

The Great Barrier Reef, the world’s largest reef, is considered to be one of the 7 Wonders of The World. Because of its breathtaking beauty the reef is one of the world’s most sought after tourist destinations.

Experience an African adventure
Werribee Open Range Zoo offers a unique opportunity to experience an African adventure and encounter the magnificent animals of the African savannah.
This 200 hectare property is home to some of Africa’s most iconic animals, as well as wildlife from the grasslands of Asia, North America and Australia.
All this, in an open range environment where the animals are given the space to behave as they would in their natural habitats.
Open 9am - 5pm every day of the year. Last entry at 3.30pm
Werribee Open Range Zoo is located 35 kilometers west of Melbourne’s city centre, on the Princes Freeway.
It is a short 30-minute drive from the city over the West Gate Bridge
or via the Geelong Road.
