Transcript of Carbon Cycle

The Carbon Cycle Will the amount of carbon dioxide increase or decrease? Why? Plants take in carbon dioxide and give off oxygen. Animals take in the oxygen plants give off, and release carbon dioxde. The amount of carbon dioxide will increase. If trees are being taken away, then that means that there will be more
carbon dioxide. This is because trees
take in carbon dioxide and now there
is less of them because of deforestation. Will the amount of carbon dioxide
increase because of decreased fossil
fuel emissions or because of decreased
photosynthesis? The Correct answer is 'A' because
deforestation will cause a decrease
in photosyntheis. This causes an increase in carbon dioxide Less plants=less photosynthesis=more carbon dioxide. The correct answer is not 'B'
because fossil fuel emissions
create carbon dioxide, and if
there was a decrease in fossil
fuel emissions there would be
an increase in oxygen. Anyways, this question is
dealing with deforestation,
not the decrease of fossil
fuel emissions.
