The 13 colonies are states that have been founded from 1607 and 1732, stretching from New England to the northern part of Florida.
The Connecticut Colony was founded in 1636 by Thomas Hooker in the capital city of Hartford.
The
Delaware
Colony
The Delaware Colony was founded in 1638 by Peter Minuit and New Sweden Company.
Agriculture, such as wheat, corn, and fishing.
Major Industries were:
The reason Delaware was founded was for trade and profits.
The
Georgia Colony
The Georgia colony was founded in 1732 by James Oglethrope and other colonists.
The name was originally the Province of Georgia, but later renamed to Georgia.
The
Maryland
Colony
Maryland was founded in 1633 by George Calvert, Lord Baltimore, and other colonists in Baltimore
By 1775, Maryland was governed by a Proprietary Colony.
The
Massachusetts
Colony
The colony of Massachusetts was founded in 1630 by John Winthrop, at Massachusetts Bay.
The
New Jersey
Colony
Massachusetts was named after an Algonquian phrase, "At the Great Hill."
New Jersey was founded in 1664 by Lord Berkeley and Sir George Carteret.
In 1775, New Jersey was governed by a Royal Colony.

New York
Colony
The New York colony was founded in 1626 by the Duke of York around Manhattan.
The
New Hampshire
Colony
The New Hampshire colony was founded in 1638 by Captain John Mason, and John Wheelwright.
In the areas inhabited by the Puritans, religion was not tolerated.

North Carolina
Colony
North Carolina was founded in 1653 by Virginia colonists named Lords Proprietors and Charter of Carolina.
New York became a state on July 26, 1788.
Their natural resources include fish, forests, and good agriculture.

Pennsylvania
Colony
Pennsylvania was founded in 1682 by William Penn.
Pennsylvania was governed by a Proprietary Colony.

Rhode Island
Colony
The Rhode Island colony was founded in 1636 by Roger Williams and Anne Hutchinson in Providence.
Rhode Island's trade was fish, furs, timber, ships, and livestock.
The
South Carolina
Colony
South Carolina was founded in 1633 by eight English nobles with a royal charter from King Charles II.
The climate was not all that bad, since winters were very easy to survive through, however, the warmer the climate the faster the spread of disease.
The
Virginia
Colony
The Virginia colony was founded in 1607 by John Smith, and John Rolfe.
Virginia joined the colonies in 1776, during the rebellion against Great Britain and became it's own state.
