Palenque
This is the
Palenque.
This means
sun temple.
The reason it is called sun temple is because it always has sun on it.
The
green
stands for hope, the
white
stands for religion and purity, and the
red
stands the blood of the mexicans that died fighting for freedom and in the middle is Mexicos
coat of arms.
People and clothing
Frida Kahlo- Frida was born on July 6th 1907 and she died on July 13th 1954 . She was 47 years old when she died . She died because of a bus accident . She was famous for painting thousands of pictures, especially her self portraits.
Mexican clothing- traditional mexican dresswear is bright dresses for women and dull suits and sombrero's for men

In coastal regions, Mexican people eat a lot of seafood. In northern areas, they eat more beef because they raise cattle. All over Mexico, corn tortillas, rice, beans, peppers, tomatoes, corn, and fresh fruit are common foods.

Endangered Species
Vaquita
It is the smallest type of porpoise in the world. There are estimated to be less than 85 vaquitas left. Some are small enough that you can hold them. Adult vaquitas get up to 4 or 5 feet long.
Hintion's Oak
The Hinton's Oak is an endangered tree species only found in southeast Mexico.
Its habitat loss is due to being cut down to make room for farms, coffee plantations, and road construction. The leaves on the tree are bright red in the spring and they turn dark green before they fall off. It's the opposite of how most trees colors change.

Traditions and Customs of Everyday Life
Girls have a special party called a
quinceanera
for their fifteenth birthday. It's when girls are now considered women. It starts with a church ceremony. She wears a fancy pink or white formal dress. Lots of her friends and family help celebrate. They have a large fancy cake, presents, and dancing. It lasts for six hours.
Weddings
in Mexico combine native and Catholic religious traditions. Almost all wedding parties last for at least two days. The whole town is invited to the party. They have a mariachi band playing at the party.
Family fun
Family fun for Mexicans includes watching boxing and going to rodeos. that is part of culture.
Mexican education
The mexican education includes 3 groups, kindergarten ,elementary ,and higher education.
