Nirvana
This album has all of Nirvana's best hits
It was released on October 29, 2002.
Originally, the remaining band members planned on releasing all of Nirvana's unreleased material.
But, because of legal issues, the band was not able to. Cobain's widow Courtney Love was trying to get out of the partnership with Grol and Novoselic, claiming she was on drugs when she signed it in the first place.
The CD has also the last song that was recorded before Cobain's death.
The song was "You Know You're Right".
(Nirvana SYXX, 2004).
Smells like teen spirit
This song was one of the most popular songs by Nirvana.
Cobain made this song for the "Ultimate pop Song".
This was the closest pop version of the band.
It was named after a brand of deodorant, "Teen Spirit", that was marketed to girls.
Cobain's voice on the track was vulnerable in tone.
Cobain was tortured to play this song in many of their concerts and live performances.
("SMells like Teen Spirit", 2013).
Heart-Shaped Box
This song came from the album "In Utero".
One of the most famous songs by Nirvana.
The song's meaning is not certain. Cobain claimed that the song was inspired by a report on T.V. about children suffering from cancer.
Others, however, believe it was about his love for his wife Courtney Love.
It is said that after their second time meeting, a small heart-shaped box was sent to his hotel room. The box contain a doll's head, symbolizing the love that Courtney and Kurt shared for dolls.
(Songfacts, ND).
You know You're Right
After Cobain's death fans were heartbroken.
This song was the last ever recorded song by Nirvana.
It was also the very last song on the very last album "Nirvana".
Luckily for fans the song was released after Cobain's death.
It was eventually put onto a singles disc where it went number 1 for the bands last time.
(No. 4: Nirvana, ND).
Suicide Attempt
While on the European tour, 20 concerts into the tour, Cobain suffered from throat problems.
The band took a break from the tour to recover.
While recovering, Cobain flew to Rome to be with his wife, Courtney Love, who was also preparing for her tour.
After the distress of the tour, on March 4th, Cobain was rushed to the hospital.
Cobain had attempted suicide with swallowing 50 prescription pain killers with a glass of champagne.
The attempt was officially called an accident.
Family and friends encouraged Cobain to attend a detox program in L.A.
Cobain left the program only a few days into it.
(Nirvana SYXX, 2004).
On April 5, 1994 Kurt Cobain had barricaded himself into the granny flat behind his mansion.
There he had put a shotgun in his mouth and pulled the trigger.
A few days later, Cobain's body was found by an electrician who was visiting the house to put in the new security system.
The day before his body was found, Courtney Love was taken to the hospital for drug overdose.
She then checked herself into rehab but soon left after getting a phone call from a friend about Cobain's death.
(Nirvana SYXX, 2004).
Cobain's Death
Cobain's Death continued...
When police broke the door down, they found Cobain on the floor with a shotgun pointed at his chin and a suicide note on the counter.
The note was addressed to his wife and 19 month old daughter, Frances Bean.
The note ended with "I love you, I love you."
Officials said that Cobain had enough heroin in his system to kill himself alone.
Two days after his body was found, a candlelight vigil was held in Seattle, where 5,00 people attended.
The crowd burnt flannel shirts and chanted profane words while fighting with police.
Several teenagers killed themselves in the U.S. and Australia.
His death inspired many copied suicides and conspiracy theories of his death.

My Choice
I chose this band because i have found more of an interest in them after hearing their album "In Utero" this summer. They also interested me because they are Alternative/rock/metal legends. I knew that in doing this prezi on Nirvana it would teach me more about the band itself. It has also showed me the craziness of the music industry. After learning about Nirvana, I'm glad that I chose them to do this project on.
