Mr.Prakash Lakhani , our current Managing Director, starts a ready-made garments business with just four stitching machines at Mohtta Market in Bombay.
The Lakhani brothers travel abroad to seek insights. The plan is to revolutionize the Indian kids wear market with a branded offering.
We expand our business to add more manufacturing facilities at Byculla, Bombay.
Gini & Jony Apparel Pvt. Ltd. is incorporated. Shoppers Stop, the first organized retail format store, also opens its first store in Mumbai.
The first exclusive Gini & Jony brand outlet (EBO) opens its doors in Somajigauda, Hyderabad.
The Gini & Jony corporate office moves to Saki Naka, Andheri (Mumbai), spread over 9,000 square feet (sq.ft.).
The first EBO opens in Mumbai (Khar). We also start our first GJ Design Studio. We make our first exports to Saudi Arabia and UAE.
2005 is the landmark year of expansion:
