Tracking system project presents a smart solution for all car owners to help them protect their vehicles and locate it at anywhere at any given time , and our system has many advantages its easy and and not complex anyone can use it ,its flexible can be installed at any brand of car and it doesn’t need any extra accessories .
GPS tracking devices are being developed and brought to market to provide real-time tracking data on physical activities.

A Global Positioning System (GPS) device is a small tracker used mostly to monitor the location of a vehicle. It can also provide information such as speed, direction and altitude of a vehicle as well.
How GPS works in five logical steps:

•The basis of GPS is "triangulation" from satellites.
•Trilateration is a method of determining the relative positions of objects using the geometry of triangles.
•To "triangulate," a GPS receiver measures distance using the travel time of radio signals.
•To measure travel time, GPS needs very accurate timing which it achieves with some triks.
•Along with distance, you need to know exactly where the satellites are in space. High orbits and careful monitoring are the secret.
•Finally you must correct for any delays the signal experiences as it travels through the atmosphere
A GSM modem is a specialized type of modem which accepts a SIM card, and operates over a subscription to a mobile operator, just like a mobile phone. From the mobile operator perspective, a GSM modem looks just like a mobile phone.
When a GSM modem is connected to a computer, this allows the computer to use the GSM modem to communicate over the mobile network.  While these GSM modems are most frequently used to provide mobile internet connectivity, many of them can also be used for sending and receiving SMS and MMS messages.
A GSM modem can be a dedicated modem device with a serial, USB or Bluetooth connection, or it can be a mobile phone that provides GSM modem capabilities.
A GPRS modem is a GSM modem with additional support for GPRS technology for data transmission. GPRS means: 'General Packet Radio Service'. It is based on a packet-switched technology, as an extension to GSM (note thatGSM is a circuit-switched). An advantage of GPRS over GSM is that GPRS has a much higher data transmission speed.
GPRS can be used as the bearer of SMS. If SMS over GPRS is used, an SMS transmission speed of about 30 SMS messages per minute may be achieved. This is much faster than SMS over GSM. A GPRS modem is required to send and receive SMS via GPRS. Some wireless carriers do not support the sending and receiving of SMS via GPRS. A GPRS modem is typically required for MMS.

In the first we will divide the system into three sub systems

1.Request Location:
The system must determine car location using GPS depending on user request
2. Request Snapshot:
The system should take snapshot for the person who use the car and sending it to user using (MMS). Depending on the user request
3. Enable Tracing Mode:
The system should inform the user every 10min with the coordinates via (SMS)
4. Disable Tracing Mode:
The system should disable the massaging sub system and stop using the notification message. Depending on user request
5.Send command:
The user able to send several commands as:

2.5. Enable Trace car
3.5. Disable trace car
4.5. send car coordinates by sending it using SMS message

6. Car Movement Alarm: car must inform the system when
it's start moving

Finally we want to say that our vehicle tracking system
is easy to use, cheap, secured, and has authentication. So it is really helpful for every car owner if he wants to secure his car from robbing.
Topic 03 (Micro-controller)
Arduino is a single-board micro-controller designed to make the process of using electronics in multidisciplinary projects more accessible. The hardware consists of a simple open source hardware design for the Arduino board with an Atmel AVR processor and on-board input/output support. The software consists of a standard programming language compiler and the boot loader that runs on the board.
