About Saratoga Arts

Founded in 1986 by and for artists and audiences, Saratoga Arts is a non-profit arts service organization dedicated to developing and promoting a thriving year-round cultural environment in Saratoga-area communities. Since 1997, Saratoga Arts has operated The Arts Center at the corner of Broadway and Spring Street in Saratoga Springs, where it welcomes viewers to art exhibits, stimulates students of all ages and skill levels in a wide variety of art classes and workshops, hosts performances of all types, and coordinates many programs that bring the arts to every corner of the Saratoga region. Directed by a professional staff and a volunteer Board of Directors, with support from its members and many community volunteers, Saratoga Arts enriches the lives of those who live, work in, and visit Saratoga; and has established itself as a vital force for the arts in Upstate NY.

* Saratoga Arts has nearly 1,000 members of all ages and interests.
* Over 1,000 people visit our art gallery monthly.
* Over 950 people per year attend our classes.
* Audiences totaling over 20,000 attend programs sponsored by the Arts Council, throughout the county.
* Saratoga Arts has awarded over $750,000 in grant funds to support community arts & cultural programming, and artist residencies in schools throughout Saratoga County.
* The Arts Center, at 320 Broadway in historic downtown Saratoga Springs, is the home for arts education for all ages; an art gallery; a gift shop, a resource room overlooking Congress Park with art-related information; and a performance space for film, music, theater, and much more. Guests are welcome to visit The Arts Center Gallery from 9am-5pm Monday through Friday, and Saturday from 11am-5pm. Local, regional, and nationally-known artists' work is displayed in our 2,000-square-foot gallery. Opening receptions are held on the 1st Saturday of each exhibition, from 6-8 pm, and are free and open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to browse through our Gallery Shop, featuring fine art works by over fifty of our member artists. Saratoga Arts

First Night is a New Year's celebration of the arts and community. Each year, thousands of revelers come to Saratoga Springs to experience a wide-ranging variety of arts and music. It is a true showcase of the diverse and immense talent in the Capitol-Saratoga region. Broadway and the surrounding streets of Saratoga Springs will be filled with music, art, comedy and family-friendly entertainment. There's no better way to ring in the New Year! Education Program

For nearly 15 years, Saratoga Arts has been dedicated to offering quality fine art and fine craft classes, taught by regional artists, to students of all ages and at all artistic levels.

Class Sessions

Summer Session: runs June - August (schedule available late April)

Fall Session: runs September - December (schedule available late July)

Winter Session: runs January - March (schedule available late November)

Spring Session: runs April - June (schedule available in February)

Located in the Arts Center at 320 Broadway in Saratoga Springs, Saratoga Arts has several fine arts classrooms, a weaving studio, a 110-seat theater, two gallery spaces and a darkroom. We have on occasion, when our facilities can not accommodate a class, offered classes off-site as well. Welcome

Saratoga Arts offers exciting Art Trips to overseas destinations, museums, exhibitions, and other places of interest to artists and arts lovers.

Our Art Tours are arranged by supporters and partners Edventures. All travelers will receive a free one-year membership to Saratoga Arts; travelers who are already members will receive a free membership renewal.

Saratoga Arts administers four grant programs for artists and non-profit organizations with funding from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), a state agency. The Saratoga Program for Arts Funding (SPAF) and Fulton-Montgomery Arts Grants (F-MAG) support community arts programming by artists, arts organizations, non-profits, and municipalities in Saratoga, Fulton, and Montgomery Counties.

The Arts-in-Education/Local Capacity Building (AIE/LCB) Program supports curriculum-based artist residencies in schools throughout Saratoga and Washington Counties. If you love the arts, Saratoga Arts
