sleet, snow, or hail. Most precipitation falls in the form of rain. The water cycle, also known as the hydrologic cycle,
describes the continuous movement of water
on, above, or below the surface of the Earth. What is the water cycle? Runoff is defined as... The water flow that occurs when soil is infiltrated
to full capacity. Excess water from rain, snowmelt, or other sources
flow over the land. This is a major component of the water cycle. The best part about the water cycle is that it can start at any phase.
It is a continuous, non-stop process. Water is essential to our planet's life. Without it, nothing could survive.
The globe is two-thirds covered by water. 93% of the Earth's water is contained in oceans. In 20 minutes, a thunderstorm can send down 125,000,000 gallons of water.
