NO! The racing does not hurt the reindeer at all. Its actually good for them , it gives them great exercise they need to grow big and healthy.

In this sport racers stand on skis behind their specially trained reindeer. The racers and their reindeer ski on a 201 meter long track. Its a celebration of coming spring
Reindeer racing popular in parts of Norway, its an event in the Sami National day. Its also popular in Finland , Sweeden , Russia , and two states Delaware and Alaska.
Reindeer racing is completely safe. The racers have on helmets and the humans are about 1 to 2 feet away from the reindeer so have no chance of getting kicked.
Yes , this family tradition will bring a wild crowd to the olympics. Especially because when the reindeer are racing down the track their big flappy tongue hangs out. This will catch the childrens attention .
