Signs and Symptoms
Most individuals infected with Herpes experience either no symptoms or have very mild symptoms that go unnoticed
When symptoms occur they typically appear as one or more blisters on or around the genitals, rectum or mouth
Herpes causes painful genital sores in many adults with suppressed immune systems.
If a person touches someone with Herpes, then that person may get the Herpes themselves.
Population and Statistics
At least 45 million people in the US have Genital Herpes.
About one out of six people are about 18-49 years old and are infected with Herpes.
The rate of Herpes is increasing.
The ages of Herpes are getting lower and lower. More teens have STDs
There are over 9,000 reported cases of STDs/Herpes in the state of Indiana.

Herpes therapy began in the early 1960's with the experimental use of medication that interfered with the replication of DNA inhibitors
the original use was against fatal or debilitating illness
Herpes came as early as Greek times(late 1800's)
Sign of Herpes on mouth
There is no cure for Herpes but you can buy OTC (Over-the-Counter) medicine to help the pain.
Herpes is NOT CURABLE
Genital herpes is increasing due to the easiness of the blisters break and the fluid spreading from person to person

The Causes of Herpes
•Herpes is a sexually transmitted disease
•It is common in most men and woman
•Herpes is spread through oral sex and skin to skin contact.
•Herpes is generally around the genitals and near or on the mouth
Sometimes genital herpes infections in woman can lead to a miscarriage or a premature birth.
Herpes infection can be passed froma mother to her child resulting in a potentially fatal infection
If the symptoms are present at delivery, then a C-Section is performed
