Counter-Terrorism
1. Increase capacity-building and training of partner states of local authorities.
2. Increasing information sharing among allies and partners to create a common situational picture.
3. Bolstering defense of NATO vessels operating in the Mediterranean Sea.
4. Increase the random searches of maritime vessels.
5. Increasing port security.
Refugee Crisis
1. Expand the mission area of NATO’s Standing Maritime Group 2 eastwards and southwards.

2. Increasing cross-briefings and coordination at the staff level between Operations Sophia and Sea Guardian to fill critical capability gaps and leverage collective resources.
Piracy
1. Increase cooperation with NATO partners and countries in the MENA region through inclusive dialogues and information sharing.

2. Enhance training and capacity-building in key North African countries to tackle piracy.

3. Increase patrols of international waters in the Mediterranean.
