Photographers use their skills and knowledge to produce and preserve pictures that tells story or tell you about a event.

What do they do?
Although, post secondary education is not required for most photographers. Many take classes or earn a bachelor’s degree in a related field because such an education can improve their skills and employment prospects. Employees usually hire people with a “good eye” and creativity, as well as a good technical understanding of photography. Business, marketing. Accounting classes can be helpful for self-employed photographers. Photographers have a talent or natural ability for taking good photos, and this talent is typically cultivated over years of practice.

How to become this occupation
A photographers work environment changes based on their specialty but all photographer walk and stand for a long period of time while carrying heavy equipment.
Portrait photographer may work at a studio but some may go to the client’s location, such as schools, their home, company office etc.
News photographers and commercial photographers, travel locally or internationally.
News photographers work long, rough hours in uncomfortable or dangerous places. A news photographer could go to a war zone to get images.
Aerial photographers, usually work on planes or helicopters

Work environment
Photographer usually get paid $30,490 per year and $14.66 per hour.

Important Qualities

When being a photographer you need some important qualities that make you even better than before. Artistic ability, business skill, computer skills, customer service skills, detail oriented, interpersonal skills are some thing you need to have to become a great photographer. Artistic ability means that you need to be able to capture their subjects in images, and they must be able to evaluate the artistic quality of a photograph. Business skills means that you must be able to plan marketing strategies. You need Computer skills because Most photographers do their own post production work and must be familiar with photo-editing software. A good quality customer service skills because photographers must be able to understand the needs of their clients and propose solutions to any problems that arise. You also need to be detail oriented because being a photographer you need to pay attention to detail and be sure not too over look any either. Last but not least, interpersonal skills are good because photographers often photograph people. They must communicate effectively to achieve a certain composition in a photograph.
