Definition: When the property of a system that regulates its internal environment and tends to maintain a stable, constant condition of properties are imbalanced, causing a deformity, diseases, and even death.

Arthritis: Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid.

Bones are soften and weakened.
Caused by a lack of calcium in the diet, or by vitamin D deficiency.

Main symptom is pain when weight is put on the affected bone

Muscle weakness.
Easily Fracture
Treatment may involve vitamin D, calcium, and phosphorus supplements

Replacing calcium, phosphorus, or vitamin D that is lacking will eliminate most symptoms

Most common type of bone disease
Most common in women
Occurs when the body fails to form enough new bone, when too much old bone is reabsorbed by the body, or both.
leading causes of osteoporosis are a drop in estrogen in women during menopause and a drop in testosterone in men.
Low body weight, drinking alcohol, smoking, and little intake of calcium and vitamin D are also causes.
Symptoms are pain, tenderness, and easily fractured.
Ways to treat this is by changing your diet, exercising, hormone replacement, and medication.

causes affected bone to weaken, resulting in pain, misshapen bones, fractures, and arthritis in the joints near the affected bones.
Can be caused by a slow virus infection, or sometimes it is genetic.
No big symptoms, mainly just bone pain
Physical examination, bone scans, and xrays are ways of diagnosis.
Treatments consist of drugs, calcitonin, surgery, diet, and exercise.
Most common type of arthritis
caused by, daily wear and tear of the joint; however, can also occur as a result of injury

Symptoms include pain, stiffness, and loss of ability.
Pain is described as a sharp ache, or a burning sensation in the associate muscles and tendons.
Diagnosed by Xrays and physical examination
Exercise, medication, and surgery are ways of treatment

Joints become swollen, tender and warm, and stiffness limits their movement.
Physical examination, xrays, and blood test show the arthritis.
No known cure
Treatment to symptoms may be cortizone shots and anti-rheumatiod medication.

It is a sign of spinal alignment and poor neck posture.
Symptoms consist of neck and back pain, headaches, and stiffness.
Can be treated by improving posture
Recurrent attacks of acute inflammatory arthritisa
A red, tender, hot, swollen joint.
Feet and big toes are most commonly affected
diet, genetics, and certain medication are the main cause of gout
The main treatment is NSAIDS
No real cause to this disorder.
They think it is mostly caused by genetics.
Mostly diagnosed with physical examination. Xrays are used to get a better picture.
Treatments include, physical and occupational therapy, casting, bracing, and surgery.
Most of the time bracing and casting are better ways to go.
