Did not set up a way to tax.
Georgia's Constitution of 1777
Freedom of religion.
Allowed slavery.
Created three separate branches of government, but the legislative branch was the most powerful.
All representatives must be Baptist, Methodist, or Anglican.
Only white males who have a certain amount of money can vote.
Trial by jury.

Freedom of the Press.
Newspapers could write
stories about the government
without penalty.

Created schools in each county.
The constitution helped the state move from being a colony to a state.
Georgia was in the middle of the American Revolution when the constitution was written.
The Constitution created 3 branches of government, which are the legislative, executive, and judicial branches.
