Counting Stars by One Republic
Counting Stars is a pop song with strong elements of folk music. The messages sent through the lyrics are that money doesn't matter; you get it but it just disappears after a while, "Make that money, watch it burn" and thinking about what we can become, "Lately I've been, I've been losing sleep, dreaming about the things that we could be".
One Republic
Formed by Ryan Tedder and Zach Filkins in 2003, One Republic is an American pop band from Colorado Springs, Colorado. Their first big hit was "Apologize" on their debut album,
Dreaming Out Loud
placing number 1 on billboards in sixteen countries and earning them a Grammy nomination.
Ryan Tedder is a singer/songwriter/record producer/multi-instrumentalist born June 26, 1979 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Apart from being lead singer of One Republic, he has also written and produced for many big names such as Adele, Demi Lovato, and Kelly Clarkson.

Personal Opinion
We love this song. It's fun to listen to by yourself or to sing to with you friends and go crazy. It has a good beat, a good tempo, great lyrics, and is easy to listen to. While more teens probably enjoy it, a lot of adults can too because it has all of the elements of a good song.
