His Father Milutin Tesla is a Priest and His Mother Djuka Mandic invented small household appliances in her spare time.

He privately built a prototype of the induction motor and ran it successfully.
Tesla discovered that the Tesla Coil could transmit and receive powerful radio signal when tuned to a particular frequency.
In 1898, he made a demonstration of the world's first Radio-Controlled vessel during an electrical exhibition at Madison Square Garden.
Radio owes its development to two other inventions, the Telegraph and the Telephone, all three Technologies are closely related.
