What is a social contract?
A social contract is an agreement between
everyone
in the classroom about how we want to be treated.
A social contract is not...
a set of classroom
rules
or
procedures


Social Contract Groups
Facilitator

makes sure everyone is participating
makes sure everyone agrees on answers
Timekeeper
(guide)
keeps the group on task
Scribe
(writer)
writes agreed upon answers on paper
Reporter

shares what their group came up with
Affirmer

tells group members "good job" or "good idea"
supports group-member ideas
