Using Salesforce.com Ideas, the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital is publicly crowdsourcing ideas for making a great hospital.
Ideas is also used internally by the Medical Center, School of Medicine and the UCSF Sustainability Program to crowdsource improvements from faculty & staff.
UCSF used Salesforce.com Chatter, a private, social collaboration product similar to Facebook and Twitter, to improve communications during our Electronic Medical Records System roll out. Its use continues today for improving our EMR.
Revolutionary patient care team communications with CareWeb Messenger
Facilitating messaging amongst a patient's care team of physicians, nurses, and other caregivers
Keeps a running dialog of messages exchanged about a patient, previously stored on pagers
Messages can be viewed within the EMR, pagers, and smartphones.
The Nursing Performance Improvement team answers patient care quality surveys on iPads, implemented using Salesforce.com, to improve nursing practices and report metrics to government agencies.
The Concierge Services Team tracks prospective international clients and VIP's to coordinate communications and requested care.
The Pediatric ICU and CICU uses the Salesforce.com Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to improving internal communication, patient service, and external (referring) physician relationships.
Research Innovation
Clinical Research Services uses Salesforce.com CRM to track, manage, and recruit participants for research studies.
The Athena Breast Health Network, led by Dr. Laura Esserman, is improving breast cancer outcomes. This groundbreaking research study takes place across all 5 University of California Medical Centers and aims to include 300,000 women and men.
