Outsiders and Theme
Theme in the Outsiders
The theme in The Outsiders is the rival between two gangs,the Greasers and the Socs. Their differences, life styles, and their disliking to each other.
The climax is the abandoned church Johnny and Ponyboy were staying in and it caught on fire. Little kids are stuck in the church, Ponyboy and Johnny saved the kids causing Johnny to brake his back, causing him to die. Later on, Dally robbed a grocery store and got shot by the police
The exposition, Ponyboy is jumped by the Socs. Ponyboy meets Cherry and makes a flashback to Johnny's past where he was also jumped by the Socs. which caused him to be scared for the rest of his life.
Rising Action

The Falling Action
In the falling action the rest of the Greasers go to the Rumble and defeat the Socs. Later Ponyboy and Darry promise to stop fighting.

Ponyboy fell behind in school and had to right a English paper. He grabbed a piece of paper and started to write, His English paper started with the beginning of the book.
The Rising Action. Johnny and Ponyboy get jumped and Johnny saves Ponyboy from drowning by killing Bob and he and Ponyboy runaway to an adondoned church with Dallys help
