A drug is any chemical you take that affects the way your body works. Alcohol, caffeine, aspirin and nicotine are all drugs.
what is drug ?

Drugs !!
Feeling that you have to use the drug regularly — this can be daily or even several times a day.
Failing in your attempts to stop using the drug.
Making certain that you maintain a supply of the drug.
Spending money on the drug, even though you can't afford it.
Doing things to obtain the drug that you normally wouldn't do, such as stealing.
Driving or doing other risky activities.

Short term effects:
Increased blood pressure Increased heart rate At low levels, can act as a stimulant At higher levels, can act as a relaxant or sedative Oxygen imbalance.

Chronic lung disease Heart disease Stroke Many different types of cancer Addiction.

Drug abuse is rapidly growing in Pakistan, especially among youth including those in colleges and universities, resulting in serious social and health implications.

According to statistics, there are nine million drug addicts in Pakistan, out of which two million are between the ages of 15 to 25.

One of every ten students at college or university level is drug addict.
Researches shows that young people who start smoking cigarettes, sheesha or drink alcohol are much more likely to experiment with illegal drugs than people who do not smoke or drink.

Drug Addicition
Drug addiction is a dependence on an illegal drug or a medication. When you're addicted, you may not be able to control your drug use and you may continue using the drug despite the harm it causes. Drug addiction can cause an intense craving for the drug. You may want to quit, but most people find they can't do it on their own.
The effects of illegal drugs include; instability in heart rhythm and heart attacks, chest pain and respiratory malfunction, strokes, and headaches, and gastric problems such as abdominal pain and nausea.
When these drugs are taken in larger amounts, they create the desired effect and can lead to addition.
How to OVER come Drug !
1) Effectively deal with peer pressure.
2) Deal with life pressure.
3) Seek help for mental sickness.
4) Examine the risk factors.

Drug abuse is most prevalent in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa where 11 per cent of the population uses drugs, followed by Sindh where
per cent of the population is drug addict. In Balochistan, almost five per cent population uses drugs while in Punjab,
per cent of the population is drug addict.
