•- Avoid recreational water toys that require a constant flow of water.

•- Wash your pets outdoors in an area of your lawn that needs water.

•- To save water and time, consider washing your face or brushing your teeth while in the shower.

•- When you have ice left in your cup from a take-out restaurant, don't throw it in the trash, dump it on a plant. OR If you accidentally drop ice cubes when filling your glass from the freezer, don't throw them in the sink. Drop them in a house plant instead.

- Avoid outdoor games which makes you wet (I know it’s fun but It’s wasting water!) 1 2 - Based on collection of rainwater and gravity flow pressure principle.
- Rainwater runs off the rooftop of the house into the rain gutter.
- The gutters then channel the water and empty it into a standpipe.
- When the standpipe has reached its capacity, the overflow runs through a pipe and empties into a water tank.

Advantages
- Relatively inexpensive
- Flexible system
- Excellent backup system

that Conserves Water "Washup" is a conceptual design by integrating washing machine with toilet flush to conserve water.

The Washup was designed by Sevin Coskun of Turkey, and it was a Notable Entry at the 2008 Greener Gadgets Design Competition.

This green idea saves water by using the washing machines waste water for flushing the toilet. This is a better way to benefit from used water coming out from washer machines. Inventor: Sevin Coskun from Turkey JAPAN TOILET

A.K.A Cheryl THANK YOU The WORLD!!! Water shortages set to grow

IIn 1999 the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) reported that 200 scientists in 50 countries had identified water shortage as one of the two most worrying problems for the new millennium (the other was global warming).

We use about 70% of the water we have in agriculture. But the World Water Council believes that by 2020 we shall need 17% more water than is available if we are to feed the world.

So if we go on as we are, millions more will go to bed hungry and thirsty each night than do so already.
Today, one person in five across the world has no access to safe drinking water, and one in two lacks safe sanitation.

Today, and every day, more than 30,000 children die before reaching their fifth birthdays, killed either by hunger or by easily-preventable diseases.

And adequate safe water is key to good health and a proper diet. In China, for example, it takes 1,000 tonnes of water to produce one tonne of wheat. World Water Day has been observed on March 22 since 1993 when the United Nations General Assembly declared March 22 as World Day for Water.

This day was first formally proposed in Agenda 21 of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Observance began in 1993 and has grown significantly ever since; for the general public to show support, it is encouraged for the public to not use their taps throughout the whole day, the day has become a popular Facebook trend.

The UN and its member nations devote this day to implementing UN recommendations and promoting concrete activities within their countries regarding the world's water resources. Each year, one of various UN agencies involved in water issues takes the lead in promoting and coordinating international activities for World Water Day. Since its inception in 2003, UN-Water has been responsible for selecting the theme, messages and lead UN agency for the World Day for Water.

In addition to the UN member states, a number of NGOs promoting clean water and sustainable aquatic habitats have used World Day for Water as a time to focus public attention on the critical water issues of our era. Every three years since 1997, for instance, the World Water Council has drawn thousands to participate in its World Water Forum during the week of World Day for Water. Participating agencies and NGOs have highlighted issues such as a billion people being without access to safe water for drinking and the role of gender in family access to safe water. In 2003, 2006 and 2009, the UN World Water Development Report was launched on the occasion of the World Water Day. The fourth Report is expected to be released around March 22, 2012. HERE'S HOW...
