Transcript of Peters Map Projection

Peters Map Projection
Shape
The shapes are highly distorted and larger than usual, because it is made for accurately representing the area.
Size
The area of the countries are accurately represented, unlike the Mercator which has Greenland shown bigger than South America.
Distance
The distance was inaccurate, due to the reason that this map was made to accurately measure the countries size, not the distance, shape, or the direction.
Direction
Although the area in the map may be accurate, it would have to give up or sacrifice direction, distance, and shape.

The pros on the Peters Projection Map is that it shows a more accurate area of all the countries. Unlike the " popular " Mercator Projection Map that shows certain countries and areas looking bigger.
The Peters Map also known as the
(Gall) map accurately represents and enlarges the size of the Eurasian and North American countries.
PROS
CONS
The cons of the Peters Map is that it doesn't accurately show how far continents are from one another. The Peters Map shows earth as a cylinder, than as a sphere.
Neither the Mercator Projection Map or the Peters Map can accurately show the earth as a sphere in a flat form.
