Transcript of Help Us Bring MOOC to Russia

Dear Fellow Alumni!
Today is a very special day for us!
We are asking YOU to support our project
and...
massive
open
online
courses
Hundreds of the best world universities
make their courses available online
free of charge for EVERYONE to join and receive a certificate
Since the political and economic crisis of the 1990s Russian education has been suffering
with lack of funding and support.
Many talented scientists left Russia and some disciplines (especially humanities) are deprived of good educators.
Our students simply cannot afford to wait
until politicians get our education system to work!
This is why we decided to...
new educational option to Russian students
WHAT WE WANT TO DO:
- Create the first Russian-language online resource where students can...
...find a well-researched, comprehensive list of high-quality online free courses
...receive qualified advice on how to best use these tools for their advancements
- Hold seminars about MOOCs in at least 30 universities across Russia
- Disseminate print and online-based materials to universities, high-schools, libraries, cultural centers across Russia
- We expect that this AEIF funded project will grow in the later years into a bigger, self-sustaining project with outside funding.
