Open
WHO IS INVOLVED IN OVERTLY CONFLICTS?
-Loved Ones
Ex: Boyfriend, girlfriend, parents, siblings, and best friends
Why?
We tend to deal with our conflicts overtly with people who we love because we care about the conflict and want to find a solution to fix our conflicts with them. Since we have invested so much in the relationship we want to fix whatever the problem may be.
Covertly Conflicts:
Covert conflicts is a way of handling a conflict in a passive aggressive manner.
Ways to Identify a Covert Conflict:
Indirect
Passive Aggressive
Cold
Silence
Who is involved and why?
Acquaintances
Coworkers
Classmates
Strangers
Why ?
Most of the time we deal with people who do not have a strong relationship status with us in a covert manner. We do this because we don’t value the relationship as strongly to bother fixing the conflict. An example is dealing with coworkers, acquaintances or even class mates. If I didn’t invest in the relationship, I wouldn’t bother speaking about our problems.

In this scene of Guardians of the Galaxy, we can easily see that this situation was dealt overtly. In the movie Quill, Gamora, the raccoon, Groot and Drax the destroyer, all become a team to destroy the villain who is trying to destroy the galaxy. They all have a common goal which is saving the galaxy. Throughout the movie these group of people become best of friends. In this clip you will see this group of friends arguing about the best way to save the galaxy.
Rocket was a science experiment.

Not much can be said about his past base off the movie, but rocket is extremely sensitive to being called an animal.

Rocket Raccoon
Peter Quill (Aka Star Lord)
Feared assassin through out the galaxy.
Most of her family was killed by Thanos.
Then she was raised by Thanos and turned into a weapon.

There are a variety of ways on how we deal with conflict. Resolving conflicts can result in physical attacks, verbal aggression, and collaborative problem solving. One of the many reasons why conflicts are handled poorly is that it often involves intense feelings. We may feel disappointment, resentment, anger and this makes us “explode” when we start to argue with that person.
What happened?
The whole gang gets locked up in prison. Drax was already in prison. Drax’s family was murdered by the villain Ronan. During that time, Gamora worked for Ronan. As a result of this, Drax wants to get revenge and kill Gamora. Peter walks in and wants to resolve the problem without anybody getting hurt.
Win-win: An orientation toward conflict that assume that everyone can win or benefit from engaging in conflict and that it is possible.
Responses to Conflict:
The voice response is when both people try to address the problem and attempt to resolve it.
*Communication is key*
The voice response is most likely to result in a win-win orientation when dealing with conflict.
