Mission Impossible
Photo Manipulation
using Photoshop
Photo Manipulation
Is a collaboration between photography and graphic design. Combining certain elements to create a unique image, that can convince even the most experienced set of eyes, requires a very creative set of skills.

Professional Examples
Mission Impossible Project
How’d you do that?
Create a believable but impossible situation
using pictures that you have taken
, then manipulated in Photoshop.
For example Mrs. Krohmer inside her coffee cup is an impossible situation, but it can be made to look believable.
Student's face on the Sphinx…
Giant student in a hallway… Impossible
Plan out the impossible situation
How do you need to pose
How can you get the correct “setting shots?”
Execute the plan
Make a plan for photos
Keep the background you pose on simple
Use a blank wall instead of a brick wall
It will make it easier to select and eliminate it to cut yourself out of one picture and put yourself into another one.
Keep lighting in mind when you take your photographs
If the light in your background or “setting” is coming from the right, but the posed photo of you has the light coming from the left, you cannot make the image believable.
Lighting Direction
Make it easy on yourself
Don’t forget to plan the lighting, reflections and shadows you need to create to make the image believable
Finishing up
Here's how to begin
Consider the Following
Is the idea creative and original?

Are the photos trimmed correctly or do they look like you need new scissors?

Have the color and lighting been adjusted between the images that are being assembled so they match?

Check out this example from BoredPanda.com
Is the image created believable but the situation impossible?

The manipulation of a photo gives a realistic view of an unreal picture.
Your favorite car is a model....
...can you drive it?
