The Whitewater controversy (also known as the Whitewater scandal, or simply Whitewater) began with investigations into the real estate investments of Bill and Hillary Clinton and their associates, Jim and Susan McDougal, in the Whitewater Development Corporation, a failed business venture in the 1970s and 1980s.
President Bill Clinton was one of the few presidents to be impeached. The President was also known to be the most investigated president ever.
The first reason why they impeach Bill Clinton is due to his first scandal known as "Travel gate" where Bill Clinton replaced 7 long time employees with 7 of his close friends.
Five months later the second scandal that affected his impeachment was the Whitewater controversy . That started a four year long investigation on the Clintons.
In 1994 Paula Jones came forward and alleged that in February 1991 when Bill Clinton was a governor he committed sexual harassment asking the young woman to commit sexual acts in a Little Rock hotel room, this lead to a lawsuit.
During the Jones controversy Bill Clinton participated in a sexual act with a young White House intern named Monica Lewinsky in the oval office. This happened during a government shut down while everyone but the two had left.
Bill Clinton stood with his wife Hillary Clinton and his Vice President Al Gore and claimed," But I want to say one thing to the American people. I want you to listen to me. I'm going to say this again: I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky. I never told anybody to lie, not a single time--never. These allegations are false And I need to go back to work for the American people." Bill Clinton later came forward about his affair.
During Bill Clinton's impeachment trial he was not found guilty by the Senate which allowed him to stay in office until the end of his term
In 1993 Clinton made 3 economic strategy rules:
1. Use your money wisely.
2. Invest in things that can get you money and is successful.
3. Open new foreign markets.

1980, Clinton loses reelection bid and enters private legal practice.He loans Hillary Clinton $30,000 to build a model house on the white water lot.
1982, McDougal buys a small savings and loan and names it Madison Guaranty.
1984,Federal regulators begin to question the financial stability and lending practices of Madison Guaranty, criticizing Madison's speculative land deals, insider-lending and hefty commissions paid to the McDougals and others.
1989,Madison Guaranty collapses after a series of bad loans and a change in government accounting procedures. 1994, The house and senate banking committees begin hearing on whitewater. Twenty-nine of Cintons administration officials are subpoenaed or testify at congressional hearing. All are cleared of any wrong doing.
After 8 years it became successful
-offering 22 million jobs
-unemployment and inflation decreased dramatically
-family income increased by $6,338
-7 million Americans were no longer in poverty
Not only did it help in Clinton's presidency but also in the future by
-by increasing home ownership to 66.7% in 2000
-Public debt reduced by $363 billion
-government expanses in 1912 were 22% and in 2000 reduced to 18% because of the three economic rules
Bill Clinton was born and raised in Arkansas, Clinton became a student leader and a skilled musician. He is an alumni of Georgetown University, where he was a member of Kappa Kappa Psi and Phi Beta and earned a Rhodes scholarship to attend the University of Oxford. He is married to Hillary Clinton. Bill beat G.H.W Bush in there 1992 elections. He was the 42nd president from 1993 to 2001. He was the 3rd youngest president and the first from the baby boomer generation.

He made large budget cuts towards the government. Those cuts were unseen since Kennedy was in office. Bill Clinton had put his Vice President Al Gore in charge of the operation. Streamlining the whole government.
Finally a big portion of this success came from his third rule,which was opening world markets to the U.S.
-Clinton was able to make 300 trade agreements
-It made 1.4 million jobs
-It also created the world's largest free trade zone
Bill Clinton wanted to decrease the amount of illegal immigration and he did this by
-increasing border patrol by 40%.
-he enforced laws to stop hiring illegal immigrants.
With his help he removed 51,600 criminals and other illegal immigrants in the country in 1995.
Not only did he removed them but also helped the legal immigrants with getting a job without discrimination and becoming a citizen.
