Do Now: Topic
Last week we analyzed JUSTICE. This week, we'll take a look at quotes that relate to REVENGE. As we move through the week, think about the difference(s) between justice and revenge.
In the bubble in the upper left-hand corner, write the topic: REVENGE.
Cross out the MONDAY bubble.
Do Now: REVENGE
"The best revenge is to be unlike him who performed the injury."

Compare and Contrast: Structure
How do you know when an article is COMPARE and CONTRAST?
What words help you notice that two things are being compared and contrasted?
What different formats do authors use to compare and contrast ideas or items?
We will consider all these questions as we prepare for today's ACHIEVE 3000 activity.
-Copy the quote completely and accurately, including the author.
- Respond in a way that meaningfully engages with the specific language or message of the quote.
Let's start by reading the related words aloud including the part of speech, definition, and example sentence. Be ready to read when your name is called.
Compare and Contrast Questions:
Let's take a look at this short paragraph, "Europe's Warm Winter," and use the Compare and Contrast questions to guide our analysis of the STRUCTURE or ORGANIZATION of the article.
Now, you'll practice with a partner. Take a look at "Honeybees and Killer Bees" together with your partner and answer the C-and-C questions to analyze the structure.
Now, let's try it on our own. Take a look at the Reptiles and Amphibians article and answer the C-and-C questions on the back. Be prepared to share your answers!
