Parents: Flora and Elias Disney
One of Five Children Walt always knew that he wanted to be an artist.
He studied art, design, and photography at McKinley High School.
His father did not approve of his dream.
At age 16 he joined the Red Cross. -When Walt returned, he moved back in with his family in Kansas City.
-He then decided to start his career in commercial art.
-He started designing for local businesses.
-Named his company: Laugh-O-Grams. Walt Decided to move to Hollywood California.
Roy and Walt decided to start a new business with $750, and opened the business in their Uncle's garage.
Their Business started to flourish and they were able to buy a shop in the back of a real estate office. On July 13th, 1925 Walt married one of his first employees, Lillian Bound.
They later had two daughters, Sharon and Diane.
Walt's business was staring to become very popular, but he did not let this come between his family. >Walt's first creation was used in a silent movie called Plane Crazy.
>His first cartoon, Steam Boat Willie, was debuted in sound.
>The cartoon featured the one and only, Mickey Mouse. Walt owned the patent for Technicolor for two years, making him the only one able to make color cartoons.
He continued to create new characters and coming up with new ideas.
Some of the major characters were Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, and Pluto. The Cartoons Continue.. In 1932, Walt’s production called Flowers and Trees won Walt his first Academy Award On December 21, 1937, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, was premiered. Some of the other classics created at this time were Bambi, Fantasia, Dumbo, and Pinocchio. -In 1955, Disneyland Park was opened.
-Walt and the company, which was now named The Walt Disney Company, expanded their work into the television world a few years later.
-The Program was called The wonderful world of color. Disney's Death Walt passed away on December 15, 1966 due to lung cancer. Roy continued out the business, and the company is still run today by the Disney family. Awards and Honors During his lifetime

and many more... Disney's Legacy The disney company is still thriving today. The company makes an average of $35 billion a year. Disney brings joy to everyone. All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.

- The reason he was so succesful is because of how creative and imaginative he truly was
